The Easternmost House by Juliet Blaxland: Shortlisted for the Wainwright Prize

Congratulations to Juliet Blaxland! The Easternmost House has been shortlisted for the Wainwright Golden Beer Book Prize 2019. The Sandstone Press team is delighted for Juliet. Publisher Robert Davidson says ‘In describing both the human life and natural history of this fascinating locale as it is gradually lost to the eroding cliff edge, Juliet Blaxland not only creates the perfect metaphor for our undeclared and unwinnable war with nature, but also provides the perfect pointer to what is essential.'

The shortlist also features Our Place by Mark Cocker, Out of the Woods by Luke Turner, Thinking on My Feet by Kate Humble, Time Song by Julia Blackburn, Underland by Robert Macfarlane and Wilding by Isabella Tree. The Easternmost House is the only book published by an independent publisher to make the shortlist.
