Out There wins OWPG's Best Outdoor Book Award
Many of Britain's top outdoor writers and photographers gathered for the 'Outdoor Writers and Photographers Guild' (OWPG) Annual Awards ceremony which took place on Saturday, 8th October at Medina Valley Centre, Isle of Wight.
The Awards celebrate the very best in British and European outdoor and adventure writing and photography and are judged by a range of panelists from across the outdoor industry.
We're thrilled that our very own Chris Townsend was the winner of the 'Best Outdoor Book Award' for his newest title, Out There: A Voice From the Wild.
'A thoroughly engaging account of the author’s lifelong involvement with the great outdoors (“a world unconstrained and free”), the people and places that have inspired him, and his passion for wild places. With plenty of ready quotes to delight winter night conversations for fellow dreamers of wild places, Townsend speaks frankly, and with the authority of a connoisseur.'
Chris Townsend is currently at the southern end of the John Muir Trail, at 4,421m (14,505ft) the highest mountain in the contiguous United States. Follow his adventures on our Facebook Page.
He has also been shortlisted for The Great Outdoors Awards for Book of the Year, Outdoor Personality of the Year, and Campaigner of the Year. You can vote for Chris here!
