Remzije Sherifi

Remzije worked as a journalist with Radio Gjilan in Kosova. She lost her job, and almost her life, as the Milosevic regime steadily tightened its grip on the Albanian people who lived there. Remzije now runs Maryhill Integration Network where three staff and 60 volunteers operate a programme of weekly activities in health, learning and art and dance. Remzije also volunteers with Migrant Voice, a free newspaper written by migrants to the UK.Remzije was named Woman of the Year at the Migrant and Refugee Women’s Awards 2013. Remzije Sherifi is a co-founder of AlbScott - the Albanian Scottish Association.
