Clifton Bain

Clifton Bain

Clifton Bain began his career in nature conservation with the RSPB in 1984, having graduated from the University of Aberdeen with an Honours Degree in Zoology. His work gave him the opportunity to study birds and their habitats across the UK and to engage in high level campaigning on climate change and biodiversity. Over the last 10 years he has worked with the IUCN UK Peatland Programme on environmental policy and advocacy to promote the conservation of peatlands.

A native of Edinburgh, Clifton lives there with his wife and takes every opportunity to explore nature, particularly in the much-loved Scottish countryside. A keen hill walker and cyclist, he is a passionate believer that encouraging people to enjoy nature for themselves is one of the best tools for conserving wildlife.
