Antony Kamm

Antony Kamm (1931 – 2011) was a distinguished author, historian, cricketer, and the publisher who first introduced English language audiences to Asterix the Gaul when he was editorial director at Brockhampton Press. In the same period he chaired both the Children’s Book Group of the Publishers Association and the Children’s Book Circle. Among his many books are: Collins Biographical Dictionary of English Literature, The Romans, The Israelites, The Last Frontier and Julius Caesar. Between 1988 and 1995 he lectured in publishing studies at Stirling University. His one book with Sandstone Press was published in partnership with the National Library of Scotland.
