Job Objective

To manage Sandstone Press sales, liaising with the sales team, distributor, wholesalers and retailers.

Key Tasks

1.    Liaise with the sales team on all aspects of retail in UK and Ireland

2.    Liaise with sales team on discounts/promotions/events, including preparation of sales materials

3.    Provide data to overseas distributors and agents, and liaise with them to facilitate and support sales

4.    Work with the Publicity and Marketing Officer on campaigns and marketing

5.    Monitor stock levels and advise on reprints and out of print titles

6.    Maintain and update website, liaising with Publicity Officer

7.    Monitor and analyse ebook sales, including promotions, and work with others to maximise and develop

8.    Develop relationships with key accounts

9.    Build relationships with targeted bookshops, to support Sandstone authors

10.    Contribute to Acquisitions process

11.    Work with authors, agents and others on marketing and sales of Sandstone titles

12.    Maintain list of rights offered and sales and contribute to rights selling

13.    Other tasks relevant to the job, as specified by the Sandstone Board of Directors

Employee Specification

Experience and Qualifications

          At least two years’ experience of working in the book trade and/or publishing 
          Degree or equivalent in Marketing, Publishing or other relevant discipline preferred
          Skills and Attributes

Excellent written and oral communication skills

          Excellent IT skills, including use of In Design
          Creative thinking
          Excellent interpersonal organisational and skills
          Ability to work independently and under pressure, and use initiative
          Accurate record keeping and timely reporting
          Planning skills 

Based in the beautiful Highlands of Scotland, Sandstone works with authors and associates across the world.
