Sandstone appoints Keira Farrell as Assistant Publisher in push for growth
Sandstone Press has appointed Keira Farrell as Assistant Publisher. A Napier publishing graduate, Keira joins from Palimpsest in Falkirk and will take up her post from 1 May 2016.
Sandstone Press Managing Director Robert Davidson says: ‘We are delighted to announce that Keira Farrell will be joining the company as Assistant Publisher, a newly created role which will include all facets of the publishing process from submissions to print. Keira has a long association with Sandstone, not only having been a volunteer reader (before taking her excellent publishing degree at Napier University), but also having gained work experience with us last summer. She is knowledgeable, experienced and bright, and will be a great asset as we take Sandstone Press forward with our new structure, new associates, and high ambitions.’
Farrell joins Sandstone Press as the company consolidates new sales and distribution arrangements, with David Segrue Ltd and BookSource respectively, and pushes for further growth. The company has ambitious plans for its international crime list - which includes Jorn Lier Horst, German bestseller Volker Kutscher, and David McCallum - adding new Tartan Noir writers, including Lesley Kelly’s debut A Fine House in Trinity. William McIntyre – already an online bestseller – joins Sandstone’s stable of authors for the next novel in his Best Defence series, Present Tense. It continues to build its outdoor list featuring authors such as Chris Townsend and Jonathan Bennett, and other literary fiction and non-fiction.
