In 2009, Moire O’Sullivan became the first person ever to complete the Wicklow Round, a 100km circuit of Ireland’s Wicklow Mountains, which has to be run within twenty-four hours. She is married and the mother of two young sons born in 2013 and 2015. During this hectic time, Moire won Ireland’s National Adventure Race Series in 2014 and 2016. Bump, Bike and Baby is about this personal journey.
Moire previously worked for international aid organisations, travelling to some of the world’s poorest areas and worst conflict zones. For seven years, she lived in Kenya, caring for mentally handicapped children in Nairobi’s slums. She has also lived and worked in Vietnam, Cambodia and Nepal. Her home is now in Rostrevor, in County Down, at the foot of Northern Ireland’s Mourne Mountains.
